What You'll Need

  • White vinegar
  • Cotton swabs
  • Paper towels
  • A bucket
  • A cleaning brush

Step 1: Soak the Raincoat in White Vinegar

Fill up a bucket with enough white vinegar to cover area that is stained by the ink. Place the raincoat inside the bucket and let it soak for 15-20 minutes. This will help loosen the ink stain and make it easier to remove.

Step 2: Use Cotton Swabs to Blot Away Stain

Once the raincoat has been soaking in the vinegar for 15-20 minutes, use a cotton swab to dab stained area. This will help lift the ink stain and absorb it into the cotton swab. If necessary, use a second round of wiping with fresh cotton swabs.

Step 3: Use a Cleaning Brush for Stubborn Stains

If the stain is still remaining, use a cleaning brush to scrub away at the stained area. Make sure to use gentle, circular motions so as not to damage the fabric of the raincoat. Once you have scrubbed away at the stain, use a paper towel to blot away any remaining ink.

Step 4: Rinse and Hang to Dry

Once all of the ink has been removed from the raincoat, rinse it off with water and hang it up to dry. Your raincoat should now be stain-free!
