Step 1: Blot the Stain

The first step to removing an ink stain is to dab the stain with a paper towel. Do not rub it, as this could push the ink further into material. Gently press a paper towel against the stain to absorb as much of the ink as possible. Repeat this process until the majority of the ink has been absorbed.

Step 2: Create a Cleaning Solution

Once you have removed as much of the ink stain as possible, it is time to create a cleaning solution to tackle any remaining ink on the raincoat. In a small bowl, mix together 1 tablespoon of laundry detergent, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, and 2 cups of warm water. Stir the mixture until it forms a consistent solution.

Step 3: Apply the Cleaning Solution

Use a soft-bristle brush to gently apply the cleaning solution to the stain. Use a circular motion and avoid scrubbing the material too harshly. Once cleaning solution has been applied, let it sit on stain for approximately 5 minutes.

Step 4: Rinse the Stain

Once the five minutes have elapsed, rinse stain with cold water. Be sure to use plenty of water so that all of the cleaning solution is removed from raincoat. Finally, use a clean cloth to blot stain dry.

Conclusion

Now your raincoat should be ink-free! If the stain is still visible, repeat the steps above until it is completely removed. Remember to also read the care label on your raincoat before attempting any of these steps.
