Using Rubbing Alcohol

One of the best options for removing ink stains from your pumps is rubbing alcohol. As a solvent, it will break down ink molecules, helping to lift the stain out of the fabric.

  • Dampen a soft cloth with rubbing alcohol.
  • Gently blot the stained area. Be sure to not scrub or rub too hard as this could damage the fabric.
  • Continue to blot until the stain is gone.
  • Allow the shoe to air dry completely before wearing.

Using White Vinegar and Baking Soda

White vinegar is another useful ingredient when it comes to removing ink stains. The acid in the vinegar helps to break down the ink, and baking soda acts as an abrasive to help scrub stain away.

  • Create a paste using equal parts white vinegar and baking soda.
  • Apply the paste to the stained area, using a soft cloth.
  • Let paste sit for 10 minutes before gently rubbing it in a circular motion.
  • Once the paste starts to break down, use a damp cloth to wipe away any residue.
  • Rinse the area with lukewarm water and allow the shoe to air dry before wearing.

Using Hair Spray

Believe it or not, hairspray can also be used to remove ink stains from your pumps! The alcohol in the spray is effective at breaking down the ink and lifting it from the surface.

  • Hold the hairspray approximately 6 inches away from the stained area.
  • Spray liberally, ensuring entire area is saturated.
  • Allow spray to sit for 5 minutes.
  • Gently rub area with a toothbrush in a circular motion.
  • Rinse the area with lukewarm water and air dry before wearing.
