Ink stains can show up on clothing, furniture, and even Prada bags—the good news is that they’re not impossible to remove. Depending on severity of the stain, you may be able to salvage your beloved bag with a little elbow grease. Here’s how to clean ink stains from Prada bags:
If the stain is still wet, you’ll want to use a towel or cloth to blot it. Do not rub it because rubbing will drive the ink further into the fabric and worsen the stain. Instead, press firmly against the area to soak up as much of ink as possible.
Once you’ve blotted the area, you'll need to apply a specialized stain remover to help lift stain from the Prada material. Choose a product that is designed for use on fabrics and leather items. You should also test the product on a small, hidden area of your Prada bag first to make sure it does not harm or discolour the material.
Once the spot has been tested, apply stain remover directly to the ink stain, then use a clean cloth to rub it in gently. Let it sit for a few minutes until the ink starts to lift from the fabric. You may need to repeat this process a few times to completely remove the stain.
Once you’ve gotten rid of stain, you can rinse the area with warm, soapy water. Then, dry the bag with a clean towel. Avoid using any heat to prevent shrinking or discoloration.
