Step 1: Pretreat the Stain with Detergent

If the ink stain is fresh, first step is to pretreat it with a laundry detergent that has enzymes in it. Rub the detergent into the stained area gently with a sponge and then let it sit for 5-10 minutes.

Step 2: Blot Away Stain

Once the detergent has had a chance to soak in, take a cloth or paper towel and blot at the stained area. Make sure to use a light touch when doing this so you don't spread the stain further onto the fabric.

Step 3: Rinse with Cold Water

After blotting away the detergent, rinse the stained area with cold water. Make sure to only use cold water to prevent any further discoloration or damage to the fabric.

Step 4: Launder the Fabric

Once stain has been pretreated, blotted, and rinsed, it's time to launder the fabric. Be sure to check the manufacturer's care label before proceeding and select an appropriate cycle depending on fabric type. After laundering, inspect the fabric to make sure that stain has been removed.
