The first step is to spray the affected area generously with hairspray. This will help the stain to be absorbed by the fabric, rather than simply spreading out more. Leave the hairspray to work its magic for around fifteen minutes.
Once the hairspray has settled, take a cotton pad and a bottle of alcohol solution containing at least 70% alcohol and dab the stained area. Make sure not to rub the stain or you risk spreading it further. Repeat this process until the stain starts to fade.
If the alcohol solution does not completely remove the stain, next apply some dishwashing detergent directly to the stain. Leave this for about five to ten minutes and then rinse the fabric with water.
Once the fabric has been rinsed, place it on an ironing board and press it with a steam iron. The combination of heat and steam should help to remove any remaining traces of the stain.
You should now have a stain-free midi dress that is as good as new! Following these easy steps, you can quickly and easily remove ink stains from your favourite dress - so no need to worry if disaster strikes.
