Before attempting any stain removal methods, take a few important steps to ensure success.

  • Begin by testing all products on a hidden area of the fabric to check for colorfastness. This will help you avoid discoloration or damage to your lingerie.
  • Blot stain as quickly as possible with a dry, white, absorbent cloth.
  • Do not rub the fabric, as this may spread the stain or tear delicate fabric.

Using Soap and Water

Soap and water can be a great way to remove ink stains from lingerie.

  1. Fill a clean sink with lukewarm water and a few drops of liquid dish soap.
  2. Dampen the stained area and rub the fabric gently with a soft-bristled scrub brush.
  3. Rinse the fabric in water until the stain disappears.
  4. If necessary, repeat process.
  5. Allow the fabric to air-dry.

Using Nail Polish Remover

Nail polish remover can also be used to remove ink stains from lingerie.

  1. Dip a cotton swab into the nail polish remover.
  2. Gently dab stain with swab until the ink disappears.
  3. Rinse the fabric with cold water.
  4. Lay the lingerie flat to air-dry.

Using Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide also works well for ink stains.

  1. Mix one part hydrogen peroxide and two parts cold water in a bowl.
  2. Soak the stained area of the fabric in the mixture.
  3. Gently rub the fabric together in solution.
  4. Rinse with cold water and allow the fabric to air-dry.
