Step 1: Scrape Off Excess Ink

Using a blunt knife, gently scrape off any excess ink from the surface of the linen. Do not use sharp or pointed objects as this can damage your linen.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain

Spray stained area with hair spray or a spot cleaning spray. Let this sit for five minutes before wiping away with a damp cloth. Be sure to scrub gently in a circular motion.

Step 3: Launder with Detergent

Wash the stained linen according to the care instructions. Use a mild detergent and water of warmest temperature that is safe for the fabric. After washing, check the stain to see if it remains. If so, repeat steps 1-3.

Tips

  • Be sure to dry stained linen completely in order to avoid setting the stain.
  • When pre-treating the stain, use a white cloth so ink does not spread further onto your linen.
  • If the stain does not come out after several attempts, it may be best to take the item to a professional cleaner.
