What You'll Need

  • Dish soap
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • White vinegar
  • Cold water
  • Sponge
  • Soft brush
  • Absorbent cloths

Step 1: Test a Small Area First

Before cleaning the entire stained area, it's important to test a small spot first. This will ensure that the cleaning method does not discolor or damage the fabric in any way. Mix a solution of a few drops of dish soap, rubbing alcohol, and white vinegar with some cold water. Dip a small piece of the absorbent cloth into the mixture and gently rub it on the back of the stain. Rinse off the solution and allow the fabric to air dry. Inspect the fabric to make sure that no discoloration or damage has occurred.

Step 2: Treat the Stain

If the test went well, then it's time to move on to treating the stain. Dampen the stained area with some cold water and then apply a generous amount of the mixture from step one. Gently rub the mixture into the fabric using the soft brush and sponge. Allow the mixture to sit for a couple of minutes and then rinse with cold water. Repeat this process until the stain is gone.

Step 3: Dry the Fabric

Finally, lay the jacket flat on a towel and allow it to air dry. Once it is dry, inspect the fabric to make sure that no discoloration or damage has occurred. If everything looks good, then you can wear your favorite jacket without any worries!
