The first step is to gently dab stain with a dry cloth to absorb as much of the ink as possible. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to avoid leaving behind any fibers.
Once you have blotted the stain, it is important to prepare the fabric before you start cleaning. Place material on a hard, flat surface and brush the area of the stain. This will help remove traces of dirt and dust which may impede the stain removal process.
Fill a sink or basin with lukewarm water and add a mild laundry detergent to create a soapy solution. Submerge the fabric in water and let it soak for 10-15 minutes. This will aid the stain removal process.
Once the fabric has finished soaking, rinse it off with cold water and press it gently with a soft towel to remove excess moisture. Hang the fabric out to air dry, away from direct sunlight.
If stain remains after the initial cleaning process, repeat the steps above until the stain is removed. Do not rub or scrub the fabric as this can cause it to fray.
