What You Need
- Laundry detergent
- Mild bleach or hydrogen peroxide
- An old toothbrush
- Water
Directions
- Mix laundry detergent and water together to create a soapy liquid. Rub the stain gently with the solution using an old toothbrush.
- Rinse the stained area with cold water after the detergent has been applied.
- Create a cleaning solution with equal parts mild bleach or hydrogen peroxide and water. Gently brush this solution onto stain.
- If any ink remains, launder the item in cold water on the gentle cycle.
- Allow item to air dry. Check that the stain has been removed before you put the item in the dryer.
Tips
- Test the cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area of the fabric before using it to ensure it won't cause discolouration.
- Don’t use boiling water; this may damage Duchesse lace.
- If the stain still won’t come out after these steps, take the item to a dry cleaner.
