Steps to Follow
- Remove as much of the excess ink as possible by dabbing the spot with a damp cloth.
- Apply a few drops of white vinegar to spot, and then scrub gently with an old toothbrush.
- Soak the stained area in a solution of warm water and dish detergent for 10-15 minutes.
- Rinse the spot with cold water, and allow garment to air dry.
Additional Tips for Removing Ink Stains
- Never use chlorine bleach to treat ink stains, as this may cause further discoloration.
- If the stain persists, apply rubbing alcohol to the spot and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
- Test all cleaning agents on a hidden area of fabric first to ensure that they won't cause damage.
- Have the garment dry-cleaned if the stain remains after following the directions above.
