Using Detergent and Cold Water

The simplest solution for removing an ink stain from your chinos is to mix a tablespoon of detergent with cold water, and then dab the stain with the mixture. Let it sit for five minutes before dabbing away at the fabric with a clean, damp cloth.

Using Rubbing Alcohol

If the ink stain is particularly stubborn, rubbing alcohol might be necessary. Before trying this technique, make sure to check if your chinos are colorfast by dabbing a bit of the rubbing alcohol on an inconspicuous area of the fabric. If the colors seem to bleed, do not use this method. To treat the ink stain, dip a cloth in rubbing alcohol and gently scrub the stained area. Add one tablespoon of liquid laundry soap and rub the stain again, using more rubbing alcohol as needed. Rinse the chinos with cold water, and check if stain is still present.

Using Hand Sanitizer

If you find yourself without rubbing alcohol, hand sanitizer can also be used to remove ink stains. Apply the sanitizer directly onto the stained area and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, use a clean cloth and cold water to scrub the area and rinse away the stain.

Using Vinegar

White vinegar is also effective in treating ink stains. Soak the stained area in a half cup of white vinegar and one tablespoon of liquid laundry soap for 30 minutes, and then wash chinos in the washing machine with cold water. Make sure to check if stain is still present after washing.

Using a Commercial Stain Remover

If all else fails, you can always opt for a commercial stain remover. Use as directed, and, if necessary, repeat the process until the stain is gone.
