Step 1: Blot the Stain

Start by lightly blotting the stain with a cloth or damp paper towel. Don’t rub – this will only push stain into the fabric more. Continue to blot until no more ink comes up.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stained Area

Once you’ve blotted away as much of the ink as possible, pre-treat area with a spot-treating product. This could be a stain remover specifically for ink, laundry detergent, or a generic stain remover. Gently rub the product into the fabric and let sit for at least five minutes.

Step 3: Rinse the Stained Area with Cold Water

Once the pre-treatment has set for at least five minutes, dab the area with cold water and continue to blot with a damp cloth to help lift the stain. If the stain has not disappeared, repeat this step until the stain is gone.

Step 4: Wash the Cloth as Usual

Once the stain is gone, wash the item normally in the washing machine following garment care instructions. Be sure to air dry the clothing instead of placing it in dryer.

Conclusion

By following these steps, you can easily remove ink stains from your favorite Chicos. In addition, make sure to always immediately blot up any excess ink that may spill on your clothes before trying to remove the stain.
