What You'll Need

  • Blue Dawn dish washing liquid soap
  • Whiskey
  • Small bowl
  • Soft cloth

Instructions

  1. Mix a few drops of the dish washing liquid with a few drops of whiskey in a small bowl. Stir until blended.
  2. Dampen a soft cloth with the mixture and blot the stained area.
  3. Continue to dab at stained area until the ink dissolves into the cloth
  4. Rinse the treated area with cool water.
  5. Lay lace flat on a clean surface and let it dry completely.

Tips and Warnings

  • Always use a very gentle cleaning method when attempting to clean Chantilly lace.
  • Cleaning with a regular detergent or heavy-duty chemicals could damage the delicate fabric.
  • Do not allow lace to sit in water for a long period of time or it may become misshapen.
