Gather Your Supplies

The first step in removing ink stains from brocade fabric is to gather right supplies. This will ensure you have everything you need on hand before you start. You’ll need a few basic items, such as dish soap, laundry detergent (like Tide or Persil), white vinegar, and rubbing alcohol.

Steps to Clean Ink Stains

Once you’ve gathered the supplies you’ll need, it’s time to start cleaning process. Here are steps:

  1. Start by pouring a small amount of rubbing alcohol directly onto the stain. Then, take a clean cloth and dab at the stain until it starts to fade away.
  2. If the rubbing alcohol doesn’t work, mix 1 tablespoon of dish soap with 1 cup of warm water and apply it to the stain. Gently rub the mixture onto the stain using a soft cloth and allow it to sit for a few minutes.
  3. Next, rinse the stained area with cold water and then apply a small amount of laundry detergent onto stain. Let the detergent sit for several minutes. Then, rinse again with cold water.
  4. If the stain is still visible, try applying a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water to the stain. Allow the mixture to sit for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with cold water.

Once you’ve finished washing and rinsing the stain—and if the stain is still there—try repeating the above steps one more time.

Final Tips for Cleaning Ink Stains from Brocade

  • Always use cold water for rinsing, never hot.
  • Avoid scrubbing the stain aggressively, as this could damage the fabric.
  • Don’t apply heat to the fabric, as this could cause stain to set permanently.
  • Be sure to test any of cleaning solutions in an inconspicuous area of the brocade fabric first.
