Removing Ink Stains with Ease: Cleaning Your Backpack

No matter how careful you are, pesky ink stains will inevitably find their way onto your backpack. It can be tricky to remove these stubborn marks, but we have the strategies to help rid your backpack of any mark.

Materials Needed

  • White cloth
  • Dish soap
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Vinegar
  • Baking soda

Directions

  1. Dampen a white cloth with cool water and gently blot the stain.
  2. Make a solution of one part dish soap and one part rubbing alcohol. Dip the cloth in it and rub it gently over the stain.
  3. Mix together a solution of one part vinegar and one part baking soda. Apply some of mixture to the stain and let it sit for five minutes.
  4. Dampen a clean white cloth with cool water and gently rub stain.
  5. Repeat steps two and three if the stain persists.
  6. Lay your backpack out flat to dry.

Additional Tips

  • Always test your cleaning solution on a small area first.
  • Rubbing alcohol can damage synthetic fabrics, so avoid using it on nylon or polyester backpacks.
  • Let the baking soda and vinegar solution sit longer if necessary.
