Easy Ways to Remove Ink Stains from Area Rugs
Accidents happen - and they often involve ink on your area rug. If you have ink stains on your rug, don't despair! There are a variety of easy methods to remove them quickly and effectively.

Using Rubbing Alcohol
- Saturate the affected area with rubbing alcohol.
- Blot with an absorbent rag; use a circular motion to lift stain.
- Once the alcohol has been blot-treated, rinse the area with cold water.
- Dab with a cloth until all liquid is absorbed.
- Let the area dry.
Using Dish Washing Detergent
- Mix together one teaspoon of dish washing detergent and one-quarter cup of warm water.
- Dab the mixture onto the stain.
- Scrub the stain gently with a soft brush or cloth.
- Rinse the area with cold water.
- Dab the area with an absorbent cloth until all the liquid is removed.
- Let the area dry.
Using White Vinegar
- Mix together equal parts white vinegar and water.
- Apply the mixture to the stain using a rag.
- Let the solution sit for 15 minutes.
- Scrub the area gently with a soft brush or cloth.
- Rinse area with cold water.
- Dab the area with an absorbent cloth until all the liquid is removed.
- Let the area dry.
