Instructions
- Lay the stained garment on a flat surface. Pat any excess hairspray with a paper towel.
- Mix a solution of one tablespoon cold water and one teaspoon liquid dishwashing soap. Do not use bleach, as it can damage the fabric.
- Dampen a white cloth with solution and gently dab the stain with it. Avoid rubbing the fabric since it can spread stain rather than removing it.
- Let the solution sit for a few minutes. Rinse the area with cold water.
- If the stain hasn’t been fully removed, mix a solution of one teaspoon white vinegar and one tablespoon cold water. Dab the stain with this solution and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing with cold water.
- If the stain is still visible, try mixing a solution of one teaspoon rubbing alcohol, one teaspoon cold water and one teaspoon liquid dishwashing soap. Dab the stain with this solution, let it sit for several minutes and rinse with cold water.
- Allow garment to dry completely before wearing or storing.
Additional Tips
- If the stain persists, repeat the steps above until it's gone.
- If stain is still visible after trying all of the methods above, take the garment to a professional cleaner who has experience in removing stubborn hairspray stains.
