Use a clean cloth or paper towel to blot the stained area. Don't rub or scrub the stain, as this can cause it to spread and become even more difficult to remove.
Mix together one part vinegar and two parts water to create a cleaning solution. Apply this to the stained area and blot with a soft cloth.
Once the vinegar solution has been applied, rinse area with cold water. Again, do not scrub or rub the fabric, but simply blot the water away.
To remove any remaining residue, mix together a few drops of gentle detergent and cold water, and use a soft cloth to gently scrub the affected area. Again, make sure you don't scrub too hard—doing so could damage fabric.
If some of the stain remains, repeat the cleaning steps until the stain is completely removed.
Finally, allow the garment or furniture to air dry and inspect for any remaining stains.
