Before you attempt to remove the hairspray stain from your white tie, make sure you have all the supplies you need. For this job, you'll need a clean cloth or sponge, some mild detergent, and a small bowl of hot water.
Before you start cleaning the tie, it's important that you test the detergent on an inconspicuous spot. Make sure the detergent doesn't damage fabric in any way. If it does, then choose a different detergent.
Once you've chosen a detergent that won't damage the fabric, you can begin cleaning stain. Dip your cloth or sponge into the detergent-infused hot water, then gently dab the stain with the cloth. Avoid rubbing the stain, as this can cause stain to spread.
When the stain has been removed, rinse tie off with cold water. This will help to remove any residue from detergent.
Once you've finished cleaning the tie, hang it up to air dry. Do not put it in dryer, as this could shrink the fabric.
