The first step to cleaning hairspray stains from your wallet is to identify the type of material. You don’t want to use a cleaning solution that might cause damage to the material, so you should check label or look up the material online to ensure you are using the appropriate cleaning method.
Once you know what type of material you’re dealing with, you’ll need to gather the right items to clean the stain. For leather wallets, you’ll need a soft cloth, leather conditioner, vinegar, and warm water. For synthetic wallets, you’ll want a soft cloth, mild detergent, white vinegar, and warm water.
The next step is to mix a solution of the vinegar and warm water. For leather wallets, use a ratio of 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water. For synthetic wallets, use a ratio of 1 part vinegar to 4 parts water. Once you’ve mixed solution, dip the soft cloth into it and wring out the excess liquid.
Now it’s time to get to work cleaning the stain. Rub moist cloth over the stain in a circular motion until it starts to disappear. Make sure not to scrub too hard or you could damage the material. When stain is gone, use another clean cloth and some cold water to rinse off the cleaning solution.
For leather wallets, the last step is to use a small amount of leather conditioner on the area to help restore leather’s natural oils. Allow the area to air dry and your wallet should look good as new!
