Venetian lace is a type of intricate lace fabric made in Venice, Italy, in the 16th and 17th centuries. It is a delicate fabric that requires a little extra care when it comes to cleaning. Fortunately, it’s possible to remove those pesky hairspray stains without destroying lace.

Here are a few simple steps you can take to remove hairspray stains from your Venetian lace:

  • If the stain is still wet, blot it with a cloth or sponge to absorb as much of the hairspray as possible. Do not rub or scrub lace, as this could damage the delicate fabric.
  • Mix equal parts white vinegar and warm water in a bowl. Soak a cloth or sponge in the solution and gently dab affected area.
  • Rinse the lace in warm water. If the stain persists, try dabbing an equal parts mixture of white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide on the stain. Allow the solution to sit on the stain for several minutes, then rinse with warm water.
  • If the stain is still visible, pre-treat it with a stain remover, then machine wash in cold water and air dry.

With proper care and these simple steps, your Venetian lace should be restored to its pristine condition in no time.
