Nothing ruins a great swimsuit quite like a stubborn hairspray stain. If you've ever had to deal with these kind of stains, you know they can be difficult to remove. Fortunately, there are some easy steps you can take to clean up that pesky hairspray without damaging your swimwear.

The first step is to blot the stain with a paper towel or cloth. Do not rub or scrub the stain as this could cause it to worsen. You may need to repeat this step several times if the stain is very large.
Create a solution of warm water and mild detergent and soak the swimsuit with the stained area exposed for at least an hour. The detergent will help to break down the hairspray residue, making it easier to remove.
After soaking the suit for an hour, rinse it with a solution of white vinegar and warm water. This will help to neutralize any remaining chemicals left behind by hairspray. Let the suit air-dry after rinsing.
If the stain is still present, try using oxygen bleach. Oxygen bleach is a more powerful cleaning agent than regular detergent, so it can be effective at removing tough stains such as hairspray. Follow the instructions on the package before using, as some oxygen bleaches require you to pre-soak the fabric before applying the bleach.
If the stain still persists after trying the above steps, repeat them as needed until the stain is completely gone. It may take a few attempts to get the stain out, but the extra effort will be worth it when your swimsuit looks as good as new!
