Using a clean cloth or paper towel, gently blot the affected area to remove any excess hairspray. Try not to rub the fabric, as this may cause the stain to set.
Mix a teaspoon of liquid laundry soap with warm water in a small bowl. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture and apply it onto stained area. Gently scrub the area with a back-and-forth motion until the stain begins to lighten.
Once the stain has been pre-treated, toss the swim trunks into the washing machine with regular detergent. Wash the trunks on delicate setting. When finished, hang the trunks up to dry in the sun. Repeat the steps if necessary.
Taking a few extra minutes to tackle hairspray stains on your swim trunks is well worth it - in just three easy steps, you can have your trunks looking like new again!
