Step 1: Blot the Stain with Paper Towel

Start by blotting the area with paper towels or toilet paper. Don’t rub it as this will spread the stain and might damage the fabric.

Step 2: Soak The Stain in Cold Water

Fill a sink or bowl with cold water and submerge the stained area for about 10 minutes. Make sure the area is completely covered in water.

Step 3: Pre-Treat the Stain with a Laundry Detergent

Once the fabric has soaked, apply a small amount of laundry detergent directly to stain. Use an old toothbrush or soft-bristled brush and work the detergent into fabric, scrubbing gently.

Step 4: Rinse the Affected Area

Rinse the area thoroughly with cold running water. If possible, put the dress in washing machine on gentle cycle, or if hand-washing is easier for you, use cool or warm water and a mild detergent.
