Use a damp cloth or paper towel to gently blot the stained area. Do not rub or scrub the fabric as this can cause the stain to spread further.
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water. Dab solution onto the fabric, using a clean cloth or sponge, and let sit for about 10 minutes. Blot the fabric dry with a paper towel.
If the stain persists, pre-treat area with a laundry stain remover product. Follow the directions on the product packaging and rinse thoroughly with cool water.
Check the care label to find out how to wash the garment. Once you’ve determined the appropriate water temperature, detergent amount, and cycle length, begin washing the item. Depending on fabric and severity of the stain, it may take more than one wash to completely remove the stain.
Be sure to double check the care label before drying. If you cannot machine dry the item, lay it out flat or hang on a clothesline.
With these simple steps, you can quickly and easily get rid of pesky hairspray stains from your sleepwear. Just remember to always read the care labels, spot treat, and wash according to the instructions listed.
