As anyone familiar with hairspray knows, it can be a surprisingly sticky substance. Those stubborn stains left by an accidental spritz can quickly build up on fabric and other surfaces. Follow the steps below to learn how to conquer those pesky hairspray stains on your Skechers.
Choosing right cleaning agents is an important first step to getting rid of hairspray stains. To start off, you’ll need a bowl of warm water, a microfiber cloth and a gentle detergent or mild soap. Additionally, it’s helpful to have a scrubbing brush on hand.
Once you’ve gathered your cleaning products, pre-treat the stained area of your Skechers. Dip the brush in the soapy water and use it to gently scrub the stained area. This will help to loosen up the caked-on hairspray residue. If stain is particularly stubborn, use the microfiber cloth to put a bit of extra pressure on the surface.
Once the pre-treatment is complete, give the entire shoe a good wash with the soapy water. Use brush to scrub away any additional residue, then rinse the shoe clean with a new cloth and fresh water. Finally, leave your Skechers somewhere to air dry completely.
To help prevent future hairspray accidents, make sure to always keep your Skechers away from hairspray. If you wouldn’t wear them while spraying your locks, then they don’t belong nearby!
With a bit of pre-treatment and careful washing, you can easily get those hairspray stains out of your Skechers! After that, remember to keep your shoes away from any aerosols and you shouldn’t have any more trouble in the future.
