How To Easily Clean Hairspray Stains Off Your Silk Tussah Fabric

Silk tussah is a beautiful fabric, but when hairspray gets on it there's a risk of staining. Fortunately, with the right products and a bit of patience, it's possible to remove the annoying stains that hairspray can leave behind.

What You'll Need

  • White vinegar
  • Dish soap
  • A sponge or soft cloth
  • A clean, dry towel
  • Fabric stain remover (optional)

Instructions

  1. Blot the stained area with a clean, damp cloth.
  2. Mix 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts warm water and apply the mixture to the stain with a damp cloth.
  3. Let the solution sit for 5 minutes.
  4. Gently rub the stained area with a sponge using a small amount of dish soap.
  5. Rinse area thoroughly with warm water.
  6. If stain persists, apply a fabric stain remover to the area and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  7. Rinse the area with warm water and then blot it dry with a clean, dry towel.
