First, mix together two cups of warm water, two tablespoons of ammonia and one tablespoon of liquid dish detergent in a bowl. Ensure that your ingredients are completely dissolved and the solution is combined.
Using a soft clean cloth, apply the solution directly onto the hairspray stain or spray it onto the stain with a spray bottle. Allow the solution to sit and break down the stain for 5-10 minutes.
Rinse the treated area thoroughly with cool clean water, and then pat dry gently with a clean absorbent cloth. To remove any lingering odor, mix equal parts distilled white vinegar and water, and spritz over the cleaned area. Allow to air dry naturally.
