You'll need some basic household items to clean the stain. Collect a few drops of mild detergent or liquid dish soap, a soft cloth or sponge, white vinegar and warm water.
Fill a clean bucket or bowl with warm water and add a few drops of detergent. Then, take your soft cloth or sponge and gently dampen area of the garment with the hairspray stain. Take care not to rub or scrub the stain as this can cause damage to the fabric.
Once the area is damp, apply a small amount of liquid dish soap or mild detergent. Rub it in using circular motions, while taking care not to rub too hard. When you're done, allow the area to sit for a few minutes.
Once the detergent has had a chance to work, rinse the stained area with warm water. Gently dab at the area with your sponge or cloth, taking care not to over-saturate the fabric.
If the stain isn't fully removed, mix equal parts of white vinegar and warm water and apply it to the affected area. Leave it for 10 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water.
Once all steps are complete, you can either hang the garment up to air dry or put it in washing machine on a gentle cycle. Hang drying the garment is preferable if you can because it's gentler on the fabric and minimizes shrinkage.
