No More Sticky Situation: A How-to Guide on Cleaning Hairspray from Reebok

The first step to getting rid of a hairspray stain on Reebok shoes is to use a towel or soft cloth to gently blot the stain. Blotting the stain with a dry towel will help to lift the hairspray away from the fabric. Once this has been done, it’s time to make a cleaning solution.
The ingredient for cleaning solution is simple and commonly found in most households; mix one part baking soda and one part water creating a paste. After the paste has been made, use a sponge to gently rub paste onto the stained area. You may need to add more paste depending on how large the stained area is. If the area has been substantially stained, you may need to leave the paste on the area for several minutes before proceeding.
Once you’ve finished rubbing the paste in, use a damp cloth to wipe away the paste and the residue that it has helped to remove. After wiping the paste away, it’s time to rinse the shoe and the stained area with warm water. Make sure when rinsing the shoe to rinse away all residue and paste that was left behind. Once the shoe has been rinsed, it’s time to let it air-dry completely.
If the stain still persists after the above steps, you can try an acetone-based nail polish remover. Test the solution on a small, hidden area of the shoe first before applying to the stained area. Take a cotton swab or cloth and dab the solution onto the stained area. Don’t rub it in, as this could cause more damage to the shoe. Once stained area has been treated, let the shoe air-dry once again. If the problem persists, repeat these steps until the stain is gone.
Cleaning hairspray stains from a pair of Reebok shoes doesn’t have to be a difficult task. As long as these steps are followed, the stain should be lifted without damaging the material. Remember, prevention is always the best approach, so fighting the urge to use your favorite product is a great way to save yourself the trouble later!
