Hairspray is something that many of us use in our daily grooming routine. But when some of it accidentally lands on our clothes, it leaves a dreadful stain that’s hard to remove. If the fabric you have inadvertently sprayed with hairspray is polyester, then you can breathe a sigh of relief. It doesn’t take much effort to remove hairspray stains from polyester. Here are some simple steps that you can follow:

  • To start, invert the soiled garment such that the stained area faces downwards. Then, take a clean cloth and blot the stained region.
  • Once you’ve blotted away excess hairspray, make a solution of two tablespoons liquid dish soap mixed with two cups warm water. Dip a clean cloth into this solution and then blot area.
  • If hairspray is not completely removed yet, saturate stained region with rubbing alcohol and again, dab the area with a fresh cloth.
  • Finally, rinse the area with warm water and let the garment air dry completely.

That’s it! With these simple steps, you can easily remove hairspray stains from your polyester clothes. Additionally, it’s also important to note that you should never rub the fabric vigorously as this may spread the stain.
