Before you start, it is important to test the fabric to make sure the cleaning method you plan on using won't damage the organza. To test, apply a small amount of cleaner or other solution to a hidden part of fabric, such as the inside seam or panel. Wait a few minutes and check if there are any visible changes in the fabric. If so, it best to discontinue use of this cleaning method.
Once you've tested fabric, it's time to start removing the hairspray. Begin by blotting the stained area with a damp cloth soaked in lukewarm water. Work from the outside in, applying gentle pressure to help lift the stain away from fabric.
Once you've blotted the stain, it's time to apply a cleaning solution. Make sure to use a mild detergent that is suitable for delicate fabrics. Mix detergent with lukewarm water and apply it directly to the stained area. Let it sit for 10 minutes before blotting it away with a clean, damp cloth.
It may take multiple attempts of blotting and cleaning to completely remove the hairspray stain. Continue until the stain is gone and the organza looks like new again. For tougher stains, you may want to try using a stain remover or other specialty cleaner.
Once you've removed the stain, it's important to dry fabric. If possible, lay the organza flat and let it air dry. Do not put organza in dryer as heat can damage the delicate fabric.
Enjoy your freshly cleaned organza fabric. Now that you know how to clean hairspray stains, you'll be able to keep it looking beautiful for years to come.
