The first step in cleaning a hairspray stain on a Nautica garment is to remove as much of the hairspray as possible. Do this by gently scraping off any residual hairspray with a spoon, butter knife, or other spoon-like object. Then, carefully spot-clean the area with a mild detergent mixed with water.
After spot-cleaning, you should rinse the area with cold water to help remove any remaining detergent and hairspray residues. Make sure to be gentle and don’t rub or scrub the fabric, as this can damage the fibers.
Once the area has been rinsed, apply a small amount of laundry pre-soak to the stain. Allow it to sit for several minutes before washing the garment according to the care instructions. As an extra precaution, you can add a splash of white vinegar to the wash cycle, which can help loosen stubborn stains.
Once the garment is washed, hang it up to dry. Take care to avoid placing it in direct sunlight, as this could cause stain to become set, making it more difficult to remove.
With these simple steps, you can easily remove hairspray stains from most Nautica garments. Not only will your clothes look great, but you’ll have satisfaction of knowing that you got rid of the stain yourself!
