Hairspray is a great styling product that helps keep your hair in place. But when it gets onto your favorite mules, it can make a mess that’s hard to clean. Fortunately, there are several methods you can use to get rid of the unwanted hairspray.
Remove Hairspray from Mules with Soap and Water
If you find yourself with a few splatters of hairspray on your mules, one of the easiest ways to remove it is to simply wash it away with soap and water. Use a mild laundry detergent or soap and lukewarm water, and gently scrub fabric or leather with a soft brush. You can also use a damp cloth to dab the affected area. Repeat this process until the stain is gone.
Wipe Away Hairspray with Rubbing Alcohol
Rubbing alcohol is another effective solution for lifting hairspray stains off of mules. Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol onto a clean cloth and gently rub it onto the affected area. Pay close attention to the area to make sure you don’t over-saturate it. If you do, you might end up with a bigger stain. Once you’ve wiped away the hairspray, be sure to rinse the spot with cold water. This will help to remove any residue.
Go Natural Route with Vinegar and Baking Soda
