Step 1: Blot the Stain

Gently dab the stain with a clean, absorbent cloth or paper towel. Do not rub, as this can push the hairspray further into fabric and worsen stain. Keep blotting until the cloth or paper towel is no longer picking up any of the hairspray.

Step 2: Apply a Cleaning Solution

Create a solution of lukewarm water and a mild detergent, such as dish soap. Use a clean cloth to apply the solution to the stain, gently rubbing in a circular motion. Be sure not to use too much pressure, as this could damage the fabric. Rinse cloth in clean water and repeat until the stain is completely gone.

Step 3: Rinse the Fabric

Rinse the fabric in lukewarm water to remove any remaining detergent or hairspray residue. Do not use hot water, as this can cause the stain to set permanently.

Step 4: Blot with a Dry Towel

Once you have finished rinsing the fabric, blot it with a dry cloth or paper towel to remove any excess moisture. Allow the fabric to air dry or use a blow dryer on its lowest setting.
