Merino fabric is a type of wool made from the fleece of merino sheep. This material is highly popular for clothing and household items because of its natural breathability, softness and wrinkle-resistance.
No one is perfect, and accidents can happen. If you have hairspray stains on your merino fabric, don't panic! With a few simple steps and some supplies, you can easily remove those stains.
- Scrape off excess hairspray with a spoon. Use a spoon or similar flat object to gently scrape off any excess hairspray that is still wet. This will prevent it from affecting the rest of the fibers.
- Soak the area in cold water. Fill up a bowl or large sink with cold water and submerge the stained area. Leave it for about 30 minutes.
- Apply a detergent solution. Mix a mild detergent with warm water and use a cloth to dab solution onto the stain. Gently rub the spot in a circular motion to work in the detergent.
- Rinse with warm water and baking soda. Rinse the area with warm water and then sprinkle baking soda on it. Let it sit for 10 minutes before blotting it up with a cloth.
- Wash with detergent. Wash the article of clothing as usual according to the manufacturer's instructions, using a mild detergent.
- Air dry. Hang up the item to dry or lay it out flat on a dry towel. Don't put it in the dryer until you're sure the stain is completely gone.
With these easy steps, you can get rid of hairspray marks on merino fabric quickly and effectively. For more stubborn stains, you may need to repeat these steps a few times.
