Step 1: Pre-treat the Stain

The first thing you should do is to pre-treat the stain with a laundry detergent such as Tide or Persil. Make sure you read all instructions on the back of bottle before using it. If you have an HE machine, then use a detergent specifically designed for them. Apply a small amount of the detergent directly onto the stain. Then, let it sit for a few minutes so the detergent can penetrate the fabric and start to break down the hairspray.

Step 2: Wash in the Machine

Once you’ve pre-treated the stain, you can place the item in the washing machine. For best results, set temperature to 30 degrees Celsius. If you’re in doubt, check the care label before doing this. Add some washing powder, and make sure the water level is set to same level as the load size. Let the machine wash according to the instructions.

Step 3: Dry the Lingerie

When the cycle is finished, take the item out of the machine and dry it either in the sun or inside in a cool and dry area. Don’t hang it on the line as the direct sunlight might fade the colors, and also avoid a dryer, as this can also cause damage.

Conclusion

Cleaning hairspray from lingerie doesn’t have to be a daunting task. By following these simple steps, you can easily rid your garments of hairspray stains. With a little patience and the right techniques, you’ll have your lingerie looking as good as new in no time.
