If you catch the hairspray stain early, it should be easy to remove. Isolate utensil from the rest of your kitchenware and take it to the sink or another area where you can work on it. If some of the hairspray has dried onto the utensil, hold it under warm running water to help loosen hairspray residue.
For most materials, a combination of dish soap and white vinegar should do the trick. Mix a small bowl of warm water, one tablespoon of dish soap, and one tablespoon of white vinegar. Immerse the utensil in the solution and let sit for five minutes. After five minutes, scrub utensil with a sponge or soft-bristled brush and rinse clean with warm water.
If the hairspray stain remains after these steps, you can repeat the process until it has been removed. For tougher stains, some people find success using baking soda or cornstarch as a scouring powder instead of the dish soap and vinegar solution.
