Carefully remove any excess hairspray from the fabric of the bag. Do this gently to avoid causing any further damage. If the stain is wet, blot it with a damp cloth. If the stain has dried, scrape it off with a dull knife or credit card.
Mix a few drops of dish soap into a shallow bowl of lukewarm water. Stir the mixture until the soap is dissolved. Using a white cloth, dab the stained area. Don’t rub it, as this will spread the stain further. Rinse the cloth between dabs and squeeze out the excess water before applying it again to the stain.
If the stain persists after step two, go ahead and apply rubbing alcohol to a white cloth. Gently rub it onto the affected area in a circular motion. Pay close attention to being careful not to spread the stain further. Repeat until the stain disappears.
Once you have used the above methods to remove the hairspray stain, it's time to dry your Kate Spade bag. Place your handbag in a well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight, away from heat sources and where it won't be disturbed. Allow it to air dry completely before using it again.
