How to Remove Hairspray Stains from a Jersey
- Gently scrape the stained area with a spoon or butter knife to remove any excess hairspray.
- Mix one part vinegar with two parts water. Dip a cloth in the mixture and wring out the excess liquid.
- Blot stained area with the cloth dampened with the vinegar and water solution. Allow the material to soak for 10 minutes.
- Rinse the jersey in cold water and repeat the process until no trace of the stain remains.
- Launder the jersey according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Tips for Keeping Hairspray Stains Away
- Avoid using aerosol hairspray, as it can be hard to control where it goes when it’s sprayed.
- Spray hairspray onto an old towel and use the towel to apply it to your hair or clothes.
- When spraying hairspray, stand far away from your jersey and try to direct it away from your clothes.
- If you do get hairspray on your jersey by accident, treat it quickly to stop it from setting in.
