Tools Needed to Clean Hairspray Stains
- A brush
- Paper towels or absorbent cloth
- Dry-cleaning solvent
- Laundry pre-treatment solution
- Mild detergent
- Warm water
Removing Hairspray Stains from Jacquard
- Brush away any residue from the hairspray stain. This will help loosen any particles which are stuck to the fabric.
- Blot stain with paper towels or absorbent cloth. Make sure to press gently to avoid spreading stain.
- Dab the stain with a dry-cleaning solvent. Allow the solvent to sit for a few minutes and then blot it with a clean cloth.
- Spray stain with a laundry pre-treatment solution. Allow this to sit for 10 minutes before blotting it with a clean cloth.
- Mix 1 teaspoon of mild detergent in 1 cup of warm water. Blot the stain with the detergent solution and then blot the area dry.
- Rinse the stained fabric with warm water. Blot the area to remove any remaining detergent residue.
- Allow the fabric to air dry.

- Make sure to test any cleaning products on an inconspicuous area of the fabric before using them on the stain.
- If the stain is still visible after cleaning, repeat the process until it is completely gone.
