Tools Needed for Cleaning

  • A clean cloth
  • Mild shampoo
  • White vinegar
  • Rubbing alcohol

Method 1: Pre-treat Stain with Mild Shampoo

  1. Remove excess hairspray residue from the georgette fabric with a clean cloth. Do not rub the area as this may spread the stain further.
  2. Moisten the stained area with lukewarm water, and then sprinkle a few drops of mild shampoo over it.
  3. Using your fingers, gently rub and massage the shampoo into the stain.
  4. Rinse treated area with lukewarm water until all visible signs of the shampoo have been removed.
  5. Repeat steps 2–4 a few times and then allow the area to air dry.

Method 2: Apply White Vinegar & Rubbing Alcohol

  1. Combine equal parts of white vinegar and rubbing alcohol in a bowl.
  2. Dampen a clean cloth with the solution you prepared and lightly blot the stained area.
  3. Allow solution to sit for 10 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.
  4. Finally, air-dry the area.

Tips for Keeping Stains Away

  • Always check the fabric care label before washing the garment.
  • Avoid using a heat setting when drying garment, as this may set the stain.
  • Keep hairspray away from fabric when styling your hair.
