Removing Hairspray from Fleece
When hairspray gets on clothing or other fabrics, it can be difficult to get out if not treated quickly. Fortunately, there are several steps you can take to remove hairspray from fleece and other synthetic fabrics:
- Use a dry, clean cloth to blot and absorb any hairspray that is still wet.
- Mix one tablespoon of mild detergent, such as a baby shampoo, with one cup of warm water. Soak the affected area for 10 minutes, then gently blot with a damp cloth.
- If stain persists, make a paste of baking soda and water and apply to stain. Allow the paste to sit for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with cool water.
- If stain is still present, mix 1/4 cup of white vinegar with 1/4 cup of warm water and apply to the stained area. Allow the mixture to sit for 10 minutes, then rinse with cool water.
- If stain is still visible, create a solution of 3 tablespoons of ammonia mixed with 2 cups of warm water and soak the stain. Allow the mixture to sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing with cool water.
- If the stain does not come out, try using rubbing alcohol or a commercial pre-treatment stain remover.
After trying these steps, launder item according to the instructions on garment's label.
