Ingredients and Materials Needed

  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup washing powder
  • 2 tablespoons liquid dish soap
  • Cold water
  • Small container/bowl
  • Toothbrush or scrub brush
  • Clean towel

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Mix 1/4 cup of baking soda, 1/4 cup of washing powder and 2 tablespoons of liquid dish soap in small container or bowl with enough cold water to form a paste.
  2. Apply the paste to the hairspray stain on the cotton voile.
  3. Gently rub the paste into the fabric with a toothbrush or scrub brush.
  4. Let the paste sit on fabric for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Rinse off the paste with cold water using a clean towel.
  6. Repeat steps 1 through 5 if necessary.

Tips and Tricks

  • Make sure to use cold water as hot water could set the stains.
  • Avoid using detergent or bleach on the fabric as these could damage fabric.
  • It is best to test the paste on an inconspicuous area of the fabric before applying to the stain.
