What You Need

  • A clean cloth or sponge
  • Dish soap
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda

Steps to Clean Hairspray from Clogs

  1. Begin by dampening the cloth or sponge with lukewarm water.
  2. Add a small amount of dish soap and begin to gently scrub the soiled area.
  3. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and check to see if stain has been removed.
  4. If necessary, mix equal parts white vinegar and water and use a fresh cloth to blot the affected area until the stain is gone.
  5. Finally, sprinkle baking soda on the area and let it sit for a few minutes. Wipe away with a damp cloth and your clogs should be free of hairspray stains!

Tips

  • Be sure to use only gentle cleaning solutions, such as mild dish soap, white vinegar, and baking soda, to avoid damaging the surface of your clogs.
  • Always test your cleaning solutions on a small, inconspicuous area before applying to the stain.
  • For particularly tough hairspray stains, try using a toothbrush instead of a cloth to gently scrub the area.
