Removing Hairspray Stains

  1. Start by mixing a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar. Not only is vinegar a natural deodorizer, it also has powerful stain-fighting properties.
  2. Soak the stain in this solution for at least 30 minutes. This will remove the bulk of the hairspray residue.
  3. After the solution has had a chance to work, rinse the remaining solution off the cardigan with cold water.
  4. Now you’re ready to apply some stain remover to area, such as a detergent specifically formulated for cleaning delicate fabrics.
  5. Leave the remover to sit for 5 minutes, then blot the area with a clean cloth to remove as much of the remover and the remaining hairspray stains as possible.
  6. Finally, rinse the area with cold water again to remove any trace of the product. You should now have a stain-free cardigan!
