Remove the Excess Hairspray

First, take a cloth or sponge and dab excess hairspray from the material. Be sure not to rub the stain, as this may cause it to spread and make it more difficult to remove. You can also use a vacuum cleaner to remove the excess hairspray.

Prepare a Solution of Water and Detergent

In a bowl, mix together cold water and a mild detergent, such as dishwashing liquid. Dip a cloth into the mixture and gently dab the stained area.

Rinse with Cold Water

Once you've completed the previous step, rinse the affected area with cold water. It's important that you don't use warm or hot water, as this could potentially set the stain.

Perform the Final Cleanse

If the stain is still visible, take a cloth soaked in a solution of cold water and vinegar and dab the area. This should help to remove any lingering residue, and your capris should be good as new.
