Gather Supplies

To start, you'll need a few supplies:

  • Mild laundry detergent
  • White toothbrush
  • Clean cloth
  • Hair dryer

Removing Hairspray Stains

The first step is to begin cleaning the stained area. Start by mixing a small amount of laundry detergent with a bit of warm water. Dip the white toothbrush into the mixture and gently scrub the stained part of the belt. You might need to use a bit of pressure if the stain is especially noticeable. Continue to scrub until the stain begins to fade.

Once you've finished scrubbing, use the damp cloth to wipe away any remaining detergent residue. Then you'll want to use the hair dryer to remove any remaining moisture. Be sure to hold the dryer at least eight inches from the belt to avoid damage from the hot air.

Finishing Up

Once you've successfully removed the hairspray stains, you can put the belt away for safe keeping. But before you do, be sure to check for any remaining stains. If necessary, repeat the above steps until the belt is completely free of stains.
